On 1 September, Kyiv hosted the country's largest cycling event, the Kyivska Sotka 2024. This was the 11th cycling race since its launch, which was attended by 1 250 amateur cyclists from all over Ukraine aged 18 and over. The oldest age group included 11 athletes over 70. The oldest participant was 79 of age, he took part in the 'Road Cycling, 100 Km' category and successfully covered the whole distance.

We were especially thrilled by the fact that more than 70 military servants who had been on vacation or undergoing the rehabilitation took part in the competition, even those who had got seriously injured and needed prosthetic care. These people have become a true example of invincibility for all athletes!

The EatMe brand is a regular partner of Kyivska Sotka event. Each participant of the race was handed a starting pack, which included EatMe snack bars approved by the Association of Nutritionists of Ukraine. Besides, the starting site of the race had been decorated with branded EatMe banners reading 'Take a bite before you ride!', as a reminder for athletes to energize themselves with healthy snacks at the very start to have enough strength and vigour to cover the whole distance. To the bargain, there had been stations distributing EatMe snack bars and water arranged along the route for competitors to boost their energy at any time.

Apart from promoting a healthy lifestyle and eco-friendly transport means, Kyivska Sotka 2024 has fulfilled another important mission – to raise funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. UAH 500 000 of charity donations will be channelled to buy antennas, UAVs and electronic warfare equipment for the 101st President's Brigade, which has been fighting in the Pokrovsk area. Another UAH 150 000 will support the PLAST, National Scout Organization of Ukraine, which is engaged in patriotic education of children and youth.

Kyivska Sotka is a bike marathon with a distance of 100 and 50 km, open to allcomers. It was launched in 2014 by Serhii Kharchuk, an experienced cycling fan, and a participant in many European cycling marathons. This heart-warming project takes place annually in late August – early September to bring together several hundred promoters of eco-friendly transport and a healthy lifestyle from different regions of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Kyivska Sotka has never been cancelled and took place regularly despite russian aggression. For four years in a row (since 2021), EatMe brand has been acting as a partner of Kyivska Sotka.
